The International Army Games 2021 drew to successful conclusion in Belarus and Russia on Saturday, with more than 5,000 troops from 277 teams coming from over 40 countries and regions competing in 34 contests in two weeks.
During the 13-day event, the Chinese team ranked second overall with winning the first place in two competitions and the second place in seven competitions of the event. The team member Xie Feng won the title of "Best Sniper" for his outstanding performance.
The Chinese military has sent 17 teams with a total of more than 700 troops to participate in 17 competitions in Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Iran. The International Army Games 2021 kicked off in Moscow on Aug. 23.
The award ceremony of military communication technology event was held on Saturday in Brest, Belarus.
The Chinese team has finished the event with men's team ranking second, one of whom breaking the event record, and women's team winning the first place, two of whom winning the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in two competitions of the event.
The closing ceremony of the competitions among reconnaissance units kicked off at the Novosibirsk Higher Military Command School in Russia on Saturday. While the closing and award ceremony of the event on fighter pilots and military aircraft was held on Saturday at Dyagilevo Airfield in the Ryazan Region, Russia.
The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force dispatched five types of military aircraft, including J-10B fighter jets, J-16 fighter jets, H-6K bombers, a Y-9 large transport aircraft and a Y-20 tactical transport aircraft, to participate in the event, which started on Aug. 23 and ended on Aug. 30.
The fighter and transport crews of the Chinese team won two championships, and the bomber and long-range crews won two runners-up.
"In this event, Chinese soldiers shared their achievements and made common progress with soldiers from other countries, and deepened their friendship. Meanwhile, the Chinese military has improved its real combat capability through preparations and competitions, further demonstrating the image of real combat, transformation, and strategic PLA Air Force, and the pursuit of building a world-class air force," said Wang Zhuoping, a senior officer of the Chinese air force.
